Town’s pre-season friendly at Colchester United was abandoned with eight minutes to go at 0-0 after U’s midfielder Andy Bond suffered a facial injury in a collision with his keeper Mark Cousins. Bond required lengthy treatment with the injury considered so severe that an ambulance was brought to the edge of the pitch causing the abandonment, with Bond eventually helped across to it with blood streaming down his face. |

Town striker Connor Wickham has completed his move to Sunderland, signing a four-year deal at the Stadium of Light. The Blues have revealed the fee to be an initial £8.1 million rising to more than £12 million after additional clauses relating to appearances and achievements are triggered. Town boss Paul Jewell has confirmed that released Reading defender Ivar Ingimarsson has agreed a one-year deal with the Blues. TWTD reported on Friday that the 33-year-old Icelander had undergone a medical at Portman Road last week and was set to join the club. |

Town ended their season with a 4-2 defeat at Leicester City, despite a second half fightback which saw Grant Leadbitter (pen) and Connor Wickham pull the scoreline back to 3-2.
